Kawasaki Trading Co., Ltd. recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and anonymously processed information (unless otherwise specified, collectively referred to herein as “personal information”), and, therefore, carefully manages personal information in line with this Privacy Policy.

  1. Compliance with related laws, guidelines, etc. With regards to handling personal information, Kawasaki Trading complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as “APPI”), other laws, guidelines, etc.
  2. Management of personal information Kawasaki Trading places persons in charge of managing personal information, has established internal rules on managing personal information and manages personal information in line with those rules. Moreover, the company has security measures in place to prevent personal information from being leaked, lost, stolen or altered without permission, and regularly maintains and improves these security measures.

    Kawasaki Trading acquires personal information by lawful means and uses it for the following purposes and only to the extent necessary to conduct business *1.

With regards to customers and outsourcers of business operations (collectively referred to hereinafter as “customers”), and the provision of products and services to customers: Proposals, communications, discussions, contracting, surveys, market research, shipping and deliveries, messages, visits, sending publications and staging events
    2. With regards to suppliers, business partners and outsourcers of business operations (collectively referred to hereinafter as “suppliers”), and the provision of products and services from suppliers: Inquiries, communications, discussions, contracting, receiving, payments, messages, visits, sending publications and staging events
    3. With regards to events involving Kawasaki Trading and its business sites and the persons who will attend those events: Announcements, communications, verifications and reports
    4. With regards to inquiries, requests or claims made to the company and the initiating party: Responses, communications, verifications and reports
    5. With regards to shareholders, the execution of shareholder rights and the performance of corporate duties: Reports, communications and explanations
    6. With regards to groups and organizations Kawasaki Trading belongs to or is associated with and the projects, activities and events of those groups and organizations: Communications, verifications, execution of duties and reports
    7. With regards to the parent company, group companies and related business: Reports, communications, discussions, execution of duties and rights, messages, visits, sending publications and staging events
    8. With regards to recruitment activities and candidates who wish to join the company: Recruiting, accepting job applications, selection, communications and surveys (This personal information is handled as personnel information after the recruits enter the company.)

With regards to employees including contracted, dispatched and part-time employees (the same applying hereinafter): Assignments, human resource management, education and training activities, wage calculations and payments, welfare benefits, health insurance management, health guidance, health management, safety measures, workman’s compensation, information system operations and business planning

      • Greases, coatings, poisons, deleterious substances and other chemicals
      • Textile products and their materials
      • Foods and alcohols
      • Daily essentials, office supplies and other general goods
      • Explosives
    2. Wholesale and agency operations for the above
    3. Subcontracting of construction work and studies, design, intermediation and other operations associated therewith
    4. Subcontracting and intermediation of framing, bridge and other steel construction work
    5. Leasing of movable property
    6. Sale, leasing, intermediation and management of real-estate
    7. Intermediation for shipbuilding
    8. International and domestic shipping
    9. Sale, licensing and intermediation of industrial property rights, system engineering and other software
    10. Electrical communications under the Telecommunications Business Act
    11. Power generation and supply
    12. Sale of used goods
    13. All matters incidental to the above

    3)Purposes of using personal information in Kawasaki Trading’s possession
    Kawasaki Trading uses personal information in its possession for the same purposes as those given in 2).

    4)Providing personal information to third parties
    Except when otherwise required by law, Kawasaki Trading does not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the concerned individuals, nor does the company provide personal information to third parties as allowed by the opt-out procedures stipulated in Art. 23-2 of the APPI.

    Inquiries and claims about personal information in Kawasaki Trading’s possession should be addressed to the below office.

    6)Procedures for viewing personal information in Kawasaki Trading’s possession
    ①Requests to view personal information in Kawasaki Trading’s possession by an individual him/herself or a representative Any person who wishes to see his/her personal information in Kawasaki Trading’s possession should complete a “Personal Information Disclosure Request”, attach a photocopy of a document from which he/she can be identified (driver’s license, passport, insurance card or certificate of residence) and send it to the below address by registered mail. If the request is being made by a representative, the representative should attach a photocopy of a power of attorney or other document from which he/she can be identified as the proxy of the concerned individual, as well as a document from which he/she can be identified (driver’s license, passport, insurance card or certificate of residence) to the aforementioned documents.     It is necessary to specify the personal information to be disclosed in the “Personal Information Disclosure Request”. Unless clearly specified, Kawasaki Trading may be unable to honor the request. A fee of ¥800 (tax included) per disclosure request will be charged as allowed for under Art. 30 of the APPI. Kawasaki Trading will provide the bank account and other information for depositing the fee once the disclosure request has been received and deemed to be complete, therefore the disclosure fee should be paid accordingly. The disclosure fee is the responsibility of the individual him/herself. Once it is verified that the disclosure fee has been paid, Kawasaki Trading will promptly begin investigating as to whether or not the requested information exists in the company’s possession.
    The results of the investigation will be made known to the individual by certified mail with ID confirmation. Kawasaki Trading may, as afforded by Art. 25-1 of the APPI, refuse to disclose any information if it might endanger the life, well-being, property or other rights or interests of the individual or third parties, if disclosing the said information might significantly interrupt the company’s business flows or if in violation of other laws, etc. ②Requests to correct, supplement, delete, clear, cease the use or provision of personal information in Kawasaki Trading’s possession to third parties by an individual him/herself or a representative Any person who wishes Kawasaki Trading to correct, supplement, delete, clear, cease the use or provision of his/her personal information in its possession to third parties should complete a “Personal Information Action Request”, attach a photocopy of a document from which he/she can be identified (driver’s license, passport, insurance card or certificate of residence) and send it to the below address by registered mail. If the request is being made by a representative, the representative should attach a photocopy of a power of attorney or other document from which he/she can be identified as the proxy of the concerned individual, as well as a document from which he/she can be identified (driver’s license, passport, insurance card or certificate of residence) to the aforementioned documents.     It is necessary to specify the personal information to be corrected or otherwise addressed in the “Personal Information Action Request”. Unless clearly specified, Kawasaki Trading may be unable to honor the request. Moreover, Kawasaki Trading may refuse any request on the grounds provided for in the APPI. The company conducts the necessary internal investigations and promptly explores the requested action once it has received the “Personal Information Action Request”. Moreover, Kawasaki Trading informs the individual of the measures it took to implement the requested action, any alternative measures and, if neither were implemented, to the effect thereof by certified mail with ID confirmation. ③Use of personal information provided as part of the request procedure Kawasaki Trading does not use personal information provided as part of the aforementioned request procedures for any other purpose than to process the relevant request.

    (2)Handling of anonymously processed information

    Kawasaki Trading makes it known as required under the APPI when it anonymously processes information and provides it to third parties.

Compliance with related laws, guidelines, etc.Kawasaki Trading uses and manages personally identifiable information in compliance with the Act on the Use of Numbers That Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures and the Guidelines for Proper Handling of Person-Specific Information.
